Alumni Meet - Celebrating the True Choithram Spirit of Belongingness and Togetherness

Choithram School, Manik Bagh organized its alumni meet on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at the Choithram school premises. About 400 students of 1981 batch onwards settled in different parts of the country as well as abroad assembled together to relive the memorable years gone by. The function was marked by the presence of teachers who mentored these students, guiding them and making them learn the first lessons of life before they soared away to discover themselves and the world around them. The meet commenced with the rendition of School Song by the school choir Alumni of various batches in their address were filled with nostalgia of the wonderful days at school and now an opportunity to connect with the long lost class mates and teachers.
School Principal Mr. Rajesh Awasthi lauded the efforts of the Alumni to re-unite the Choithram family and celebrate the true Choithram spirit of belongingness and togetherness and hoped this bond would strengthen in the coming years. Visit to the various class rooms by the Alumni evoked good old memories of the years spent in their alma mater.
Presentation of Japanese and Hawaiian dance by school students along with piano recital by alumnus Aniket Joshi recharged everyone. The Alumni association felicitated their mentors of yesteryears Mr. S. K. Shrivastava and Mrs. Farida Kaul as well as the CBSE school toppers of 2011-2012 batch viz., Meenal Saluja of Commerce stream, Sonakshi Puntambekar of Science stream and Hayramb Pandit of Humanities stream. Alumnus Mr. Apollo Kasliwal of 1984-1985 batch was felicitated by School Principal Mr. Rajesh Awasthi for his notable contribution in the field of science at the international level for his research in God’s Particle.
Vote of thanks was proposed by alumnus Mr. Alok Billore, a management consultant and a social activist. Alumni Mr. Naveen Khandelwal and Mr. Gaurav Airen, both chartered accountants by profession conducted the proceedings eloquently. After savouring a sumptuous lunch, the alumni put their cricketing skills into action and thereafter departed with heavy hearts and nostalgic memories.
Karishma Baluchi, Alumnus Of 2005 Batch Secures Admission In ISB, Mohali

Karishma Baluchi, an alumnus of Choithram School, Manik Bagh of 2005 batch glorified her alma mater by securing admission in ISB’s one year post graduate programme in Management at Mohali, one of the most prestigious B-Schools of the country. At school, besides winning several academic awards, Karishma had passion for sports such as martial arts, basketball, roller skating, yoga, athletics and chess; all of which earned her numerous prizes and contributed in developing a holistic personality. She completed her B.Com. (Hons.) from prestigious Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. After taking the GMAT in 2010, Karishma’s CPA (Certified Public Accountant) qualification from USA in audit along with her experience of working at Wall Street enhanced her professional acumen. She has been selected in ISB on the basis of her outstanding talent and significant achievements at all levels.Karishma is the first person from Indore to be selected in this prestigious institution.
Wg. Cdr. Anil Goyal Shares His Lifetime Experiences

Wg Cdr Anil Goyal, an alumnus of 1989 batch of our school addressed the students in the morning assembly on January 11, 2012. Wg Cdr Goel began his address with a humble wish that he would like to see one of the Choithramians as an astronaut in India’s own space programme. In the same context he elaborated on some handy tips to pursue this career. He further emphasized about the role played by school in inculcating Indian value system among students. He drew children’s attention towards the fact that that Indian culture and tradition is its true identity and they should nurture their hobbies so that they can retain this rich heritage. The brief address concluded with the message that success is the end result of three factors, viz, honesty, sincerity and integrity.
Wg Cdr. Goel was commissioned in Indian Air Force in Dec 1993 and served as Flying Instructor for young Cadets in Air Force Academy from 2001 - 2003. He has more than 2500 hrs of flying experience and is
presently posted at Moscow as project pilot for MiG 29 aircraft.
ALUMNI MEET REVIVES NOSTALGIC MEMORIES
Choithram School, Manik Bagh organized its alumni meet on Sunday, December 25, 2011 at the Choithram school premises. About 200 students of 1979 batch onwards settled in different parts of the country as well as abroad assembled together to relive the memorable years gone by. The function was marked by the presence of teachers who mentored these students, guiding them and making them learn the first lessons of life before they soared away to discover themselves and the world around them. The meet commenced with the rendition of school prayers the students used to sing during their schooling years. Alumni Ms. Vandana Jain (working in an MNC), Mr. Rahul Makhija (an architect), Mr. Manish Kane (an educationist), Mr. Sanjay Chawla (an entrepreneur) and Dr. Pravar Passi (a neurologist) in their address were filled with nostalgia of those wonderful days at school – the fun activities, the excitement before the Sports days & the Annual days, sharing of food, naughty pranks, calling each other nicknames, tensions before the exams and now an opportunity to connect with the long lost class mates and teachers.
Mr. N. Jha, former School Principal lauded the efforts of the Alumni Meet to re-unite the Choithram family and celebrate the true Choithram spirit of belongingness and togetherness, a reason to flock together generations of Choithramians and connect all the fledglings that flew out of the nest years ago, a reason to meet, interact, share the joys which they have cherished all along. The occasion was graced by the present School Principal Mr. Rajesh Awasthi, who welcomed the alumni by referring to them as the ‘brand ambassadors’ and ‘mobile assets’ of the school. In his address he enlightened the gathering with the true spirit behind an alumni association and how the alumni could play an efficacious and significant role in guiding the present batch of students. Visit to the various class rooms of the junior and senior building evoked good old memories of the years spent in their alma mater. They were also taken to the school indoor sports complex and Choithram International, a new edition to the Choithram family in the year 2003. The old students relived the memories of their yesteryears by showing a documentary to their fellow mates highlighting the alumni who have carved a niche for themselves in multifarious fields. Vote of thanks was proposed by alumnus Mr. Alok Billore, a management consultant and a social activist. Alumnus Mr. Naveen Khandelwal, a chartered accountant conducted the proceedings eloquently. After enjoying a sumptuous lunch the alumni departed with heavy hearts, promising to meet soon and fulfil the responsibility of mentoring their junior batches in the coming days.
