Rajesh Awasthi: A Brief Profile

Born on August 19, 1969 Mr. Rajesh Awasthi, a Management Postgraduate in HR (Training & Development) also possesses M.Phil in Geography with specialization in Regional Planning. He completed his post graduation in Geography from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidayalya, Indore, securing First Position in the University. At present he is engaged in his doctoral research under the title “Metropolitanisation And Rural Transformation: A Case Study of Villages Around Indore, Metropolis”. For his scholarly work Mr. Rajesh Awasthi has been awarded the State Integrated Merit Scholarship for completing his studies.

Mr. Awasthi has a vast experience of teaching and academic administration. Presently he is heading Choithram School, Manik Bagh and Choithram Institute of Educational Research & Training, Indore as the Principal.

Research in the field of Education and Geography is the area of his interest. He has more than 17 research papers to his credit published at National and International level. He has also done projects on various subjects, important among them being Regional Planning and Metropolitanisation. His work has been acknowledged in the form of “The International Young Geographer’s Award” by International Geographical Union.

In the field of education he has well developed vision and is quite innovative. He believes that the students must be given the opportunity to learn in an environment of personal concern. In a conference organized by Mumbai Professional Education Forum, his presentation on “Managing Academics”, A Techno-professional Approach’ was adjudged as the best presentation and was awarded “The Administrator’s Award”.

He was honoured with “Innovative Teacher Award’’ on his presentation “Developmental Discipline” under the aegis of Ministry of Human Resource & Development.

He also received the “Best Presentation Award” on “Strategic Leadership” at IIM, Ahmedabad, (the most prestigious Management Institute of the Country) at a workshop for Schools Principals, where 45 Principals of CBSE affiliated Schools from all over the world participated.

Mr. Awasthi is a certified Mentor & Monitor of the CCE programme of CBSE. He has coordinated the Induction Programmes of the Board for newly affiliated schools. He is also nominated in the “Advisory Committee” of Ministry of HRD, for the implementation of Right to Education Act.

Having passion in Training, Mr Awasthi as a Trainer conducts workshops for Principals, teachers, students and also for the personnel of corporate sector. He has conducted several workshops for teachers in various schools and colleges all over the country. He himself has designed 15 Module Teacher Training Programme covering various aspects of Teaching Learning Process.

Mr. Awasthi as an organizer has organized many conferences, seminars and symposiums at district, state and national level. At the social front, Mr. Awasthi is very active and is a member of the Rotary Club. He also holds the position of Director, Youth Service, Rotary Club of Indore Uptown as well as Co-chair of RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award), District 3040.
